CLASS DESCRIPTIONS Tot Stars (Ages 2 1/2 - 3) This wonderful class is an introduction to dance for your child. Activities include movement preparation, development of locomotor skills, and simple dance steps. The use of colorful props, imagination and beautiful music combine to make a very joyful class for the youngest dancer. CLASS ATTIRE: Pink Leotard, Black Tights, Pink Ballet Slippers. Hair in a ponytail or bun. Little Stars This class emphasizes coordination and basic motor skills through imagination, songs, and movement with music and props.The foundation for Ballet & Tap is begun by teaching positions, preliminary dance steps, and progressions across the floor. Combination Ballet & Tap class teaches coordination skills, rhythm, and basic terminology in a structured class environment. Children begin to count music, which improves their timing. | Ballet
Ballet is the foundation for all dance forms. Proper Ballet technique is important to the student’s development. This class concentrates on proper body placement through barre and center work, building muscle, improving posture, using correct terminology, and building high self-esteem in a technically-structured class. | |

| Lyrical
Lyrical incorporates the use of balance, isolations, and extensions, along with techniques learned in ballet, jazz & modern dance to create physical interpretations of music. This form of dance lets students use their emotions while keeping with the classical training. This class requires one Ballet class per week. | |

| Pointe
When sufficient strength in Ballet is developed, students may take Pointe. Teacher recommendation and two Ballet classes per week are required. | |

Rhythm, timing, and tap terminology are taught in every level. Students learn to master tap steps such as Time Step, Buffalo, and Maxi Ford. Dance combinations are put to music. | |

| Jazz
Jazz is a technique class with a variety of different styles ranging from NY, to music video, to the latest Broadway Musicals. Dance tricks, jumps, turns, extensions, kicks, splits and leaps make dance class upbeat and fun! This class builds and strengthens muscles as well as increases flexibility. | |

| Hip-Hop

MODERN
Modern technique is based on the artistry of Martha Graham, Charles Weidman and Jose Limon. It emphasizes organic body movements such as contraction, fall and recovery and suspension and release. A focus on floorwork builds strength and fluidity. Modern Dance explores movement, space, rhythm and the dancer’s creativity. Students become aware of the human body’s tremendous potential for expression through dance. This style is informed and inspired by nature, music, art and human emotions.

| Private Lessons
All private lessons are 30 minutes each. A specific discipline of dance is selected and perfected during class. | |

Several times a year, professional choreographers from New York come in and teach a high impact master class. These teachers have appeared on Broadway and Television, as well as in Movies and National Tours.
